Hello Everyone! Just wanted to say that I’ve enjoyed the odd post I’ve made asking for help on various issues, and reading a lot of the issues others are experiencing.

Why I write this post is due to my son. He has a recently purchased ‘13 Ford Escape (yuk... Ford) with some issues, all of which are totally foreign to GM products (lol). We tried locating a suitable Ford Forum for assistance. The results are astounding! Nothing came available which WAS NOT A SCAM! One promising site that identified with his specific problem, asked for a “registration fee” of $1 for communication directly with a Ford expert. He Googled this site to find others who had subscribed, only to be ‘charged’ $61 on their credit cards, followed by no meaningful advice on the cause or cure for the apparent ailment.

CHEERS! to all in this group who administer and maintain it, it’s integrity, and all who sincerely ask for help, and to those who attempt to contribute to The Forum’s health and well being!

I’m a true believer! Thank you, Dwayne (Surrey, BC, Canada)

P.S. Is anyone aware of a true Ford Escape Forum that you’d care to share?

I don't think you will have much luck finding a "ford escape" forum, you might find a ford truck forum and just ask a general question on there, I would imagine people that are knowledgeable will respond, there must be people that work on them. :)

You could also look for Facebook groups with a similar (Ford) focus -- pin intended. That said, I don't hate Fords any more than I hate Apple phones; it's just that the GM trucks give me features I want, have been easy to work on, and still have a huge amount of parts availability. I don't know about the Ford's, but I did enjoy the panther platform.

If you can't find a decent Ford Escape forum, you may want to try to look for a Mazda Tribute forum. They are the same vehicle, although the Tribute's last year of production was 2011. Just a thought.

Keep up on *all* your fluids. They don't do well with degraded stuff. Like our rigs, in many ways.

They'll poop out water pumps and tstats if the coolant goes bad

Turbos will leak if you run your OCIs too long

Run some fuel system cleaner through it periodically. These like to build up a fair bit of carbon

And change the transmission fluid regularly. These will work fine.... Right up until they don't. And they will go with little warning.

It's worth popping the engine cover off every time you do an oil change. These have a lot of little hoses under the hood. Just give everything a once over while you're in there.

And feel free to post a thread and tag me, or shoot me a note if there's something that has ya stumped
