Picked up our new 2022 Yukon last week. It leaked oil from the start. Here is a pic of my garage floor after 3 nights. They are putting a new oil cooler in it this week. Anyone else have this issue? Not pleased about the only new vehicle I’ve ever purchased having an issue of this magnitude from the factory. Also peeved the undercarriage and my garage are covered in oil. Other than that, we love it! I’m trying my best to withhold judgement until I see how they respond. As of now it’s been in the shop twice as long as in our possession and it’s not even titled yet.View attachment 373721
Yikes, so sorry you're dealing with this.

I am going to watch for this. Where did the oil show up on the garage floor, toward the front or back of the engine compartment, left or right side?

Well, recovered our Yukon yesterday. Finally got around to checking the underside tonight in the garage since it was raining when I picked it up and I didn’t really feel like crawling around the parking lot. Still oily after 2 attempts by the dealer to get it right. Told the GM rep I was going to hire it out regardless and his response was “Some of that is supposed to be on undercarriage”. Maybe - I asked him to let me know when the next delivery came in and we could compare…Sometimes I wish I didn’t notice such things.5304B3C3-5AD6-451E-BE7A-4E07A8F2F3F4.jpeg

Middle, too much to pinpoint. It covered most of the undercarriage and dripped from everywhere, front to back, left to right.

"Some of that is supposed to be on the undercarriage" What sort of like a 1950's Norton/Triumph/BSA, oil on the ground a good sign b/c it means there's still some left in the crankcase? I'll keep checking the oil cooler and keep an eye on the garage floor.

My 21’ Yukon Denali 6.2 leaked tons of oil out at 755 miles. Come to find out there was a wrinkle in the seal.

Edit to add: Oops- mine was a transmission leak.

Update: picking it up tomorrow, they extended the warranty to 5yr/100k as a courtesy. Now, let’s hope the clean up job is satisfactory…

fyi, diesel powertrain is 5/100 by default

or, did they extend your bumper to bumper to 5/100, if so very nice

his response was “Some of that is supposed to be on undercarriage”.
New trucks have zero oil on their undercarriage, they are 100% dry and clean when they roll off the transport.
Once a dealer has completed work like described above they should be cleaning the undercarriage. When you pick it up the next time, look underneath, if it isn't clean ask them to clean it.

Also, depending on your state, 3 fix attempts will likely put you in lemon law zone, something to consider.

I hope this is the end of your problem. It's a great engine and there's an increase in power and efficiency you'll probably notice somewhere around 5k miles.

Old thread but I just noticed this morning my suburban diesel with 9k miles on it leaked oil last night. Maybe a half of a dixie cup or so. Sucks I live so far from the dealer but looks like I need to bring it in. I can't get underneath the car but I can see on the oil filter looks wet. Wish i had a car jack so I can see if it is loose.
