I purchased my extended warranty, GMEPP, from Dennis Fichtner, of Laurel Chevrolet. His phone is: 406-698-6355. His quote for the 84 month 100,000 mile Platinum warranty beat everyone by hundreds of dollars. My 2022 Tahoe LT 4x4 diesel has enough electronics alone to make it worth the risk. Yes, they often to not pay off but I took considered the cost of parts and labor on what is covered. Here is how insurance works: The policy carrier is betting that you will not file a claim. You are betting that you will file a claim. Keep it simple. I went with the plan that was licensed by GM. To me it is worth some of peace of mind, especially if my wife starts ripping on me if something goes wrong. She loves the Tahoe but she will find some reason to blame me if a covered part fails.

Would you be willing to share what you paid? I’m really on the fence about the extended warranty but feel it is a good peace of mind option to have on these profoundly complex vehicles.

@Stbentoak what type of big ticket diesel items do you see being on this excluded list that I got from my dealer for the "gmc extended protection plan". These contracts n wordings can be so vague, and the dealers really don't have a clue but just want to sell you it.

Catalytic converter = DPF filters and they go bad.
and sensors going bad are common.
EGR valves happen.
would be good to call this place and ask them some diesel specifics as this is written for gasoline vehicles……

There’s also the extended limited warranty that basically extends your factory bumper to bumper coverage . It should cover the diesel emissions equipment that the gmepp won’t since it’s truly bumper to bumper.

Unfortunately it seems that you have to buy it when you purchase the vehicle and it doesn’t seem that every dealership offers it for sale . The dealership I ordered from claims not to know anything about it .

This seems like the one to get to cover mostly everything . Unfortunately it only goes to 60k. Had anyone bought this ?

Most of your problems that will evidence them selves diesel wise won’t show their face till 75-100k miles as DPF’s start to lose efficiency and EGR valves start to fail being gummed up etc.
I‘d want a warranty to at least 100k if I was keeping it that long….

Yup , wished their extended bumper to bumper warranty went up to 100K and beyond . I can’t seem to find another warranty with that kind of mileage that covers the emissions
