Cheap eBay black Denali style grill review.

So started a thread a while back asking if anyone had used one of these cheap black grills with not much feedback. Thought I'd give it a try as it was only $170 shipped. Similar in style to this one here:

First of all getting the bumper off wasn't bad but listed to the advice on loosening the side bumper cover support screws. I'm now waiting to new ones as I broke every single clip on them

Overall you can tell it is a much thinner and cheaper plastic. Isn't going to take much of a collision, rock or hit to break it. Still in the process of installing on bumper as I'm also Plasti Dipping the foglight surrounds at the same time.

Kinda mocked up in place. Center guides don't line up. I'll have to trim out the inside of the middle slots.

I tried one, but went with the ‘18+ design on the ‘17. Also, plasti-dipped the fog surrounds. Clips are tricky, but I just took the whole thing off in one piece and then used trim removal tools…Still no fun.

Looks good. That's the style I was originally going with but wife decided she liked this one better.

Got the replacement side mount brackets in the mail yesterday and grill re-installed. Overall looks are good, but we'll see how long it lasts as it's definitely cheaper then OEM and the top mounting brackets didn't fit good either. Almost looks like the brackets are about 1/2" lower then the factory ones so you have to bend them a little. Also, the side of the grill doesn't sit tight against the bumper cover like the factory one does. It's hard to see as everything is black, but there is a good 1/8" gap or more.

Wow ! That looks so good....does anyone know where you can buy a replacement, Denali-style grill that probably costs more but actually fits without all the hassle ? Tx.

eBay and Amazon have numerous options ranging in price from cheap to several hundred dollars. Problem is very few, if any I found are actually "name brand" or USA made ones. Pretty much all made in China so i figured might as well go cheap to see how it turns out instead of paying $300 for one that is made in the same plant as my $170 one.
