2003 Escalade 6.0L AWD Suspension

The air-ride was shot long ago, and the rear air shocks are disconnected.

The suspension is really pathetic when towing our boat.

Can I replace the rear shocks and springs with conventional? Any suggestions?

Thanks.

Yes you can, and several folks on the Forum have done so, and they will chime in on what parts they used. To assist these folks, can you provide more details on the boat that you are towing?

It's not just the boat/trailer, which is a fairly light 18-foot pontoon. We loaded a 16-foot cargo trailer moving household goods, and when I hooked up, the tongue pedestal was almost touching the ground. When we hooked up to my BIL's older Chevy PU, there was no sag in the rear.

Go on rockauto and get the Moog HD rear coils. I went with KYB Monomax shocks all around. Couldn't be happier.

I got a Bilstein rear kit, shocks and coils, online for $318, and had a local shop put them on for $300. They said they didn't have any problems.

I feel much better now.

If it weren't for bad luck, I'd have no luck at all . . . . I was on my way from Missouri to clean up hurricane Ian debris in Florida, and hit a deer after just 15 miles.

The damage is superficial, the plastic stuff on the front, with a punctured radiator. No frame damage and no air bag deployment.

I test-drove it on the way back home, doing a Nascar-style tire-warming serving, and steering and tracking is solid, alignment is good.

I briefly got a notice on the Message Center, and when I looked at it, all I saw as it disappeared was "Stability".

Can I assume that a front Stability sensor was damage since it is steering and tracking solid?
