Yeah that's what I though, too. It seems like it's just bad quality. Nothing that one would expect from a brand new car. Probably I take it for a test drive and stop at a Chevy dealership to have them look

I had a car seat in mine and it didn't look anything like that when I took it out.
All depends on how long the car seat was in it, and how big the baby/toddler was. Had one in my T bird years ago--had leather--and it was indented and squashed for awhile. I sold the car and you could still see where it was. It looked better, but you could still see it.

My guess is someone put something hot on it, like a hot casserole dish while heading to grandmas for Sunday dinner.

I would also say a full or booster seat. I had very similar markings on my M5 when sold it.
