Well, my 2009 Tahoe has been on mechanical leave (collapsed lifter) since the fall. It's parked in the back yard waiting for me to perform surgery. It's getting warmer here in Vermont so I'm thinking I'll schedule the procedure this May/June.
I purchased a 2013 Tahoe last month and having learned my lesson on the 09, I purchased and installed a Range Disabler. A 4 cylinder Tahoe just doesn't sit right with me.

Siblings-2013 on left, 2009 on right.
The 2009 has a stuck lifter. I will be tearing it apart soon.

268K miles and zero issues. As I posted in another thread I even programmed mine many years ago to run as a 4cyl more often.

Sadly my 2021 had lifter failure at 5 or 6k miles....

2006 had a fully exploded lifter, and bent pushrod.
Rebuilt it cheap enough with new parts.
9.9 times out of 10 its a stuck intake lifter.
Very rarely is it a exhaust lifter.

I disabled the system at the same time, which is much easier on the GMT360 vs the GMT800/900+.
Just a matter of unplugging a vacuum sensor on the brake booster. It creates a check engine light thou.
I did eventually get it tuned out thou.
