It could make it more stabile, but then you'll be adversely affecting your treadwear and creating extra drag. Toe basically introduces a minimal amount of tire scrub to use the friction as a control mechanism. Instead of reduced drag to allow free movement wherever (like on ice), the drag is a little bit of directional grip.
Right, so finding the magic angle to give you increased control without sacrificing treadwear is the key. I'll ride around for a few days at 3/4 turn and see if its any better, and if not go back to 1/2.

I thought about getting some of these, or the T shaped ones that latch on to your wheels, they are more expensive though.

Ahem... so.. what the hell.. I've used the spare tool kit before, and had no idea how to properly reinstall it, so took the time today to figure that out.. what a PITA.. I didn't get much done on the Civic head gasket today.. I did get it back from the machine shop, and she's all ready, but I spent all my time on the stupid tire, so she'll have to wait a couple more days.. (looking at 5 properties in Tx tomorrow via facetime). So anyway, thought I'd share a couple pics of how I think this goes back together.. I know that I'm not the only one to ever suffer trying to put these parts back together the way they're supposed to be.
when i bought mine the jack and all was just in the hole making noise, day two i put it all back in place. directions and diagrams are on the tag of the crank bars bag.

Cleaned up this round file I had, and stuck a couple rare earth magnets to the cam oiling hole. Seemed like I was gonna have to file it all the way down, then these chunks just broke loose. I'm sure the Truck Norris would have just given them a roundhouse kick, but I'm glad I got them out of there.
I'm gonna put a couple dabs of green loctite on the bearing before it goes in for its third time, hopefully I never need to take it back out...

So I got the spare installed, everything properly torqued, and went for a spin, to ensure all was well, and no issues.... Oh, then a rock found my windshield.
What in the world did you do to Texas to make it bite back like that? Hopefully it's happy with its pound of Tahoe and things start looking up.

I was expecting this myself, but mine only seems to outline the proper procedures for raising the vehicle, and swapping out the tire. Perhaps they changed these instructions over the years..?
