I know I can't be the only one hat has had this problem as I have 2 vehicles with the same problem. Both trucks the doors are tight and have minimal play in the hinge pins. I know one had the pins and bushings replaced as I did them and have lubed them well since I did it. Both of the the door trim will hang on the pillar post and prevent the door from opening. I've pulled the panels, slid it as far forward as possible. I have new clips and have installed them on both and it still happens. Anyone have the same problem? Anyone have a fix?

How do the gaps look between the door and mating panels when it is closed? Do you need to maybe adjust something?

Have a picture? Are the gaps the same on the passenger side?

There’s a decent gap on all of mine (three 98s) between the panel and b-pillar.

Pardon the mud, this is my son’s truck…

I've looked at both trucks and your gap appears larger than what I have. Not much in the way of adjustment on these trucks as the hinges are welded. I guess if I get a chance I'll pull the hinge pins and replace them. Anyone have a good source for pins and bushings besides the Dorman Help stuff?

I’ve used the ones from GM without issue, but think that the key is to press (rather than hammer) the bushings in.

If your door is so far rearward as to impact the panel on the inside, I’d think that you would have next to no gap on the outside when the door is closed.

Is your b-pillar trim loose or is the weatherstripping pulled out?

No B pillar trim looks good and tight so does the weatherstrip. I will put some time in on it soon, too many other projects right now. 97 Tahoe wipers have problems, that's first. It's not the module, looks like the switch.
