Order in and question about running boards

Placed an order on January 7th and Tahoe just arrived at dealer. I live in Michigan. RST model with most of the extras except the moonroof of course as I removed that option when given the option of getting sooner without it. Diesel, max trailer, luxury pkg. First thing I will be doing is getting rid of the stock RST wheels and tinting the front side windows to match the rear tint.

If anyone is interested in a set of RST 22" stock wheels let me know. I live in Michigan.

Also, has any one removed the running boards on their Tahoe? If so, can you post pics? I am not a fan of running boards as here in Michigan they will gunk up with snow/salt 4 months of the year. Curious if anyone has removed their and what it looks like.

I don't have an RST, but my Z71 didn't have the steps (they're dealer installed) and were on back order so here are some pics of my Z71 without. Hope that helps. It's a great look just too high of a jump in and out it seemed, otherwise I would have considered leaving them off to be honest.

I also think they look much better without but we constantly use them so could not live without them. Power boards are cool but eventually they tend to develop issues

Looks good. Are those enlarged tires or are those stock Z71 tires?

Whatever hassle running boards may present, they are necessary on this vehicle. Couldn’t survive this vehicle without the power boards. If they have problems later…. so be it, that’s what warranty and extended warranty is for

I agree. I've got an 18 GMC Yukon Denali w/ power boards and I've learned to ask the dealer to "clean and grease" them every other oil change or so. Makes a world of difference, I think the motors start to fail more because of gunk and dried out hinges than the motor itself being subjected to weather. Just my opinion on the matter, maybe there is a more technical answer LOL

When the weather breaks I plan on getting under there, cleaning them, and lubricating them with some fluid film.
