I've heard that if your oil pan is painted that slick 50 will erode the paint and cause clogs. Does anyone know if my 2004 Suburban has such an oil pan? I few on-line forums seem to identify other smaller/compact cars but not big vehicles/v-8/etc. Does anyone know?

I wouldn’t use Slick 50 either way. Not a big fan of additives. Quality oil is all you should need.

GM oil pans are not painted inside or out, unless someone painted it on purpose. **it's possible some older gm pans were painted black (maybe)
either way that crap is snake oil, useless

I fully agree with the above comments. Do not put any oil additives in your motor.

Don't know the answer to your question. I can attest that the original stuff works. My buddy who at the time was a Sergeant with the Broward Sheriff's Office did extensive tests with it on their fleet of patrol cars back in the late 80s or early 90s.
