Hi

New member here and I couldn’t find anything previously on this (apologies if I missed it). I am considering a special order for a 2022 diesel Tahoe. I will not be “needing” the Tahoe until September or October. Is there a deadline for putting in an order for a 2022? By the way, just looking for a 4x4 LS with a couple of options. Thx for any advice.

According to donlen, hasn't been established yet. But with constraints and allocations, if you actually need the rig then my advise would be place it sooner rather than later.

I just ordered a 22 Suburban LS with the diesel and dealer said 3-6 months. But take it with a grain of salt it seems like the actual ETAs are all over. Some get their trucks within 8 weeks, some are still waiting for their 2021 orders

It really depends on if your ordering dealership has an allocation or not. Most of the longer wait is for dealer to receive an allocation for that model and trim.

I'm sure there is another member that can correct me for any false info ...

They are a company that handles doing corporate fleet purchases. They have timetables listed for various makes/models. Generally speaking the timelines They have listed (such as above) are in line for the general public ordering timelines as well.

Allocations – The number of a particular vehicle model a dealer is assigned by GM.

Dealers only receive allocation if earned ...some weeks it is not earned and not available...

1100 and Dealer Allocation

This causes a lot of issues. When you place an order with a dealer, the status is 1100, PRELIMINARY ORDER ACCEPTED (This means your dealer has entered your order into their system but does not mean they have the allocation to submit the order to GM yet. Speak with your dealer to verify when they expect to be able to submit your order for production). UNTIL GMAD ACCEPTS the order, it just sits there at 1100. You don't have an order with GM at this point. You only have a dealer requesting an allocation for a slot in the production schedule. Dealer Allocation is simple to understand - GM changed its model for producing vehicles a few years' back. Dealers are now awarded allocation based on past performance, as well as other factors. If you are sitting at 1100 you are not in line yet for production. Your dealer MUST get GM to accept the order. When GM accepts the order, all the parts are available and will be allocated to your car build.
