My 2016 Tahoe (I've had since new) has developed a rear air shock suspension problem. When I hook my boat or utility trailer to it, the compressor cycles on and off about every minute. I've had it checked by 2 mechanics (one the GM dealer) and both tell me I have no air leaks. Today while trying to figure out why the compressor turns on and off so often I found with weight on hitch and vehicle running compressor cycles. With ignition on but not running it does not cycle.
My head is getting sore from all the scratching....any ideas?

Odd that the dealer couldn’t figure it out. The air is going somewhere. My failure on my 13 Burb was the vent solenoid on the compressor. It ran off and on like that but wouldn’t move the suspension under load.

I'm a bit skeptical of the dealer, as well. They have diagnostic equipment, which should have identified the issue, as there are several data points that are available to be monitored on that suspension.

I would recommend that you mix up a combination of water and a bit of soap in a spray bottle, and then spray it on the shocks and air lines, after putting a bit of weight on the back of the truck. I'll bet that you find the leak fairly quickly. If you don't find the leak, then I would think that the compressor is starting to fail.

I think my problem is exactly what yours was! I'm going with a new compressor, because I think I'm losing air out the pump exhaust vent.
Thanks for your info!
