So after 7 months I picked my Tahoe up from the paint shop yesterday. I must say I love it. They removed the roof rack and all trim and emblems. There wasn't any body work needed but they spend considerable time making the body panels perfectly smooth. They painted it Toyota Pure white, and it is WHITE! They also installed the new hood, grill and bumpers.

I'm thinking of adding black TAHOE lettering to the doors and black wheelwell trim.

It is a 96 2dr/2wd, lowered 4" with 20x9 rims and 285/40/20 tires.

Not too bad for a daily driver! When I picked it up the guy that brought it up to the front of the shop asked me if it was mine and I told him yes. His next question - "Do you want to sell it?" I think I'm going to have to get used to being asked that!

I've also attached a picture of my other toy - a 69 Chevelle SS 396.

It's an automatic, TH400. Right now it's got a 402 with a cam, headers, and a holley 800 in it. I have an engine ordered for it that will be here in Febuary. It's a 467 ci, 570 HP.

I've rebuilt the suspension with tubular control arms front and rear, big sway bars and front coilovers. The tires and wheels are front 8 x 18 with 235/45/18's and 9 x 18 with 275/40/18's. It's a blast to drive.

Yes it's like a panoramic view all around but I live in SE Texas and it's hard to keep cool in the summer. I'm going to tint the side windows as dark as I can to see if I can help cool it down
They make new tint that keeps the heat and UV rays out better than before, ceramic I think.

UPDATE - I decided that there was too much white so I added the Tahoe logo to the doors in matte black. After looking at it I wanted to add just a touch of color, so I added the "SS" emblems from a new Camaro. They are smaller than I wanted, but my only other choice was much larger and it was too much. I know there is no such thing as a Tahoe SS, but I like it!

If it says Tahoe SS, then it is a Tahoe SS. Looks awesome! You could even add a engine cowl emblem on each side of your hood for more colour and muscle.
