Long time lurker, first time poster...

Wireless carplay doesn't come standard until 2017, but this may be the fix. Has anyone used this product? Not affiliated with the company whatsoever and I am going to purchase one next week for my 16 Yukon Denali and will let everyone know how it works out. I have something similar for my Cayenne GTS and it works perfectly after the initial setup. Sure would be great to not have to plug my phone in every time I want to use waze.

I Haven't tried that particular adaptor but I would love to hear your experience with it whenever you get it and have some time behind it. There's tons of wireless carplay adaptors out there but I'v yet to find one that works well.

So last year I bought one for my wife but not this brand. I used this website https://cplay2air.com/

I used them mainly because the Facebook reviews seemed ok.. anything on Amazon had crap to mediocre reviews… so here’s how it went. I ordered around Black Friday of 2020. Took about 3 weeks to get to my house…. Fast forward to Christmas. The damn thing doesn't work.. I got it to connect one time then every time we shut the car down and start again it doesn’t connect.. I email customer support snd they tell me. To make sure the phone is not plugged in anywhere. No wireless charging. WiFi off. No Bluetooth. No air pods. Make sure I’m not near my garage (wtf?)…. None of these steps help the thing just doesn’t work. We tried it in my Yukon it works 1 time then never again. we figured out that it only worked when it was moved from car to car…. Hella glitchy. So we contact customer support again. The option to return was $25 restock fee then I had to pay for shipping to send it back to China. That was close to $40 or so. At this point I paid $130 for the item and they want to charge me $65 to send it back. With no guarantee it will even get past customs. So I open a claim with PayPal. This goes on for about 3 months. PayPal says I have to ship it back for full refund. But the address provided by PayPal was different than the address provided by customer support. So I ship it to the PayPal address because the claim was through them so I followed their guidelines . Send it out. A month later the package get held up in customs. Doesn’t move for over a month again.. at this point PayPal can’t help me. USPS can’t help me because it’s not in the country anymore. PayPal closes my claim… now I’m out $130, a product and like $20 to ship… finally I follow up with my CC company (Amex. They got my back). PayPal reimbursed me like 2 days later. Full refund. Then a few weeks later the package updates. It’s on its way back to me. I get it back in like June 2021. I put it right in my fire pit

Sorry for the long story but I wouldn’t buy unless it has reputable reviews and shipped from the US. Out of country sellers can pretty much do whatever they want after they send the package to you

Not sure it worth $140. IMHO, I don't mind the wireless, plus the fact that I can use any of the USB ports. If anything I might consider it for my VW Alltrack which has the USB behind a doot that needs to be kept open when in use. This would look a lot cleaner.

There is a new one coming out, it's pre-order right now expected to ship in November, supposed to be a workable wireless solution if you have wired android auto
not for apple

Installed it yesterday. Works as advertised with almost no delay. I actually get a longer delay directly wired to the usb in the “ashtray” compartment.

I’ll give it a few weeks or month and let you know how it’s holding up. So far so good!

2 week update- it works equal to if not better than plugging into the usb port. Only had to do an initial setup. Occasionally it takes a few seconds to register but most of the time it is already connected by the time I start the car. Very happy with the purchase. I also did the wireless charging mat upgrade with the 2018 module and harness and turned the rubber mat 180 degrees. My Iphone 12 Pro Max and Iphone 11 both charge wirelessly now too.
