It's actually really clean, i took good care of it.
ZR2 Blazer.

I got it 3 years old, and i think with like 30k on it.
It had just come off of a lease.

condition,
Mostly It just has high miles, and the transmission is shot.
(I think the t case is failing too, common issue with the miles)

The hood also has some clear coat crackling.
Driver side door has been repaired twice thanks to some criminal jabbing a screwdriver through it twice in order to break into the thing.
Body shop went to town with the buffing both times, leaving the clearcoat pretty thin...
I think that's the cause of the hood paint failure.

And it's the same color as your tahoe from the looks of the image.

The transmission is being held together by hp tuners right now.
I think the o-ring on the end of the input shaft has gone or has shrunk, drops in and out of lockup.
so hp tuners has that disabled, and the pressures modified since i believe i'm also loosing pressure in that area. :jester:

The ac did work last year, but this year it started acting up.
I haven't cared enough to look to far into the issue, might be a switch, or some line started leaking.

Oh and the transfer case, i think the pump has begun to fail, and it's digging into the case housing.
Makes a terrible noise... :jester:

And the driver side seat lumbar support has failed.
making it very uncomfortable to drive.
I have one of those foam lumbar supports strapped in the seat so it won't totally kill my back. :hahano:

And the abs has failed, classic case of needing to re-flow the solder.

A few years ago, i could have had the ins total it out when the front control arm mounts started ripping off of the frame.
I had my welder go through and tig weld it up.
He also added some extra supports, so far it has been gtg.

Another possible, i build up the 5.3 with junkyard parts.
Maybe keep with the gen 4 block since it looks like the 4.3 knock sensors should bolt right up.
and then get some cheap Gen 3 internals.
Wild guess, i'll probably need the lower resolution crank wheel from the gen3 in order to make it work.

I also know how to rebuild the 4l60e, and i have all of the tools needed thanks to my vette.

And to be honest, it's mostly my wife wanting to get rid of it.
The drive way is getting pretty packed with my toys/projects. :manos:
Love those 4.3's. Torquey motors.

No its by the bose amp area.

i do have one somewhere, and may have batteries unless the kids took them all for the xb controllers lol

I hate navigating the factory service manual...

but it does look like red with white should be power.
One would assume that the larger wire is the main power.

black, i would assume ground...

Love those 4.3's. Torquey motors.

it has been a good little truck.
It also handled my boat decently.
it really struggled going up a certain canyon, but it struggled with that canyon without a trailer too. ;)

It has many many highway miles as my daily, i moved a bit away from the city but continued to commute.
It only left me stranded once, and that was when the fuel pump went out.
And that pump went out shortly after a fill up. :hahano:

Yup, i have a long ways to go for my understanding.
I also need that wideband installed so i can start data logging and understanding, and thinking in this "stoich" thing. :jester:

with the 6.2 tune, all was pretty good.
except when i punched the throttle.
right at first punch, i would see some ping and timing retard.
iirc there was a table that i copied over that might be the cause of this, so i need to spent more time looking at the different tables for a better understanding.

But so far, the trailblazer ss timing map is super weak sauce, and my hoe runs good on it.
But it's not happy.

I put the different timing maps in my build thread as a general reference.

I think the next one I'm going to try is the 08 escalade 6.2 map.
it's not as aggressive as the 09 that i tried before.
Otherwise, i need to figure out what's causing the stutter/timing retard with the 09 map at the first throttle press.

Wideband will be awesome, and some peace of mind for WOT over 3500 rpm...
I'm expecting those heads to make me go a little lean.

but then again, I'm still running the wee 5.3 exhaust system.
That's probably next on my list of upgrades, but after i pay for the 6.0 build and get my cc cleaned off.
:okay2:
You better stop punching it if your aren’t logging it with vcm scanner. You could be hitting insane knock retard and could detonate.

Got the Cold Case put in without too much hassle.
Modified the fan shroud so it would actually go back in. Could clean it up a bit or add some foam to really get a good seal.

But now I have a leak coming from the back of the water pump and thermostat.
So since I'm at about 150,000 anyway, just ordered a water pump and radiator hoses.

Was in a hurry since I had to start work early this morning so I didn't get to put in the new radiator baffles.IMG_20210709_182907709.jpgIMG_20210709_191348867.jpgIMG_20210709_191106837.jpgIMG_20210709_193640390.jpgIMG_20210709_194340226.jpg
