Changing Brake light bulb and found surprises

Wife tells me that the left brake light is out, no biggie have a bulb in the garage.
Pull the taillight housing out and found scotch locks.


So now when i have free time i get to chase them and see where they go.. yay.

Looks like the crap U-Haul does when they install a "towing package". Or, if they're on the brake and/or turn lights, a PO could've tapped them for an LED brake/signal light bar.

Its got the factory 7 pin and hitch as far as i can tell. I just did a quick look, and they seem to run toward the FRONT of the Tahoe along the drivers side

It may have been rigged for towing behind a motorhome. I recently did the installation on mine. Sans scotchlocks.

If so, it terminated in a plug under the grille. The towing baseplates bolt to the front of the frame where the tow hooks go.

KInda looks to me like it runs to the reverse light.I would guess thats the trigger wire for a rear camera-poss for an upgraded stereo.

There is one on the reverse light and on on the brake/tail light, but didnt check to see whick circuit. We work 2 different shifts, so it will be sat,sun before i can check it. Ive seen the blue wire before running through the jack area when i had to put on the spare. But never thought too much of it, now i need to do some searching. I got this from the dealership in town, and i thought i looked it over thoroughly...guess i didnt. In 3 years ive had no major problems, tires, battery, stuff like that so no complaints. But this irritates me.

Winner winner chicken dinner.

Finally got around to checking out the mystery wires. At some point in its life it must have had a backup camera. Found an almost insignificant hole drilled in the bottom tray in the console and wiring labelled to reverse light. Oh and this
Label reads AV1.
