Looking to convert my Z55 Autoride to gas shocks(Bilsteins or cheaper) and HD springs, and looking to add something like a 2/2 leveling kit.
I have been researching this for months and still cannot pin it down.
Has someone done this and have a parts list???
Looking for all the parts I need to do it in my driveway.
Truck is a winter rig, only used to get the family to the ski resort and me to work (@ the resort).

Here is what I did with my 06 Denali...

Moog HD springs

Bilstein 5100 for 2.5" lift

Supreme Suspension 0-3" level/lift

Here's what I wish I did, which btw, is not much more expensive but better for cold weather... (I live in AK)

Rancho RS9000xl 9 position select (Front)

Rancho RS9000xl 9 position select (Rear)

Cognito upper control arms (to maintain better geometry and saving your ball joints)

I don't know if I would recommend this, but I did a 6" Rough Country lift...the bump stops have clearance problems so my ride isn't that good but it saves my tires which makes a big difference to me (33" Toyos arent cheap) The shocks and springs that come in this kit are poop, and like I said, there is clearance problems with the stock bump stops...but it's a cheap lift kit.

Only for two reasons: 1. you simply want new ones....2. the stock ones are damaged/need to be R2.
Otherwise no, you can use the stock ones.
I used a 1.5" Supreme Suspension lift block under mine when I did it and it was too high; a 1" lift block would put you around 2-2.5" lift in the rear.
Careful pushing those lift keys down too far; the steering gets very squirrelly and you wear out the outer tread on your tires very quickly.
