It was raining pretty hard at the time so I just stepped out my office front door to shoot a couple of pics. He said it is a 1996 Yukon with a 2000 front end on it. He said a local guy lifts these rigs and does body parts swaps in the area. No rust under there at all, according to the tenant. Means it likely spent it's whole life here in the PNW.

I am repeating what he said. If not for the rain, I would have looked at the door jam sticker for info and looked closer at it. I thought the body style was a 2000. That is what I guessed at. He said something else. I am not a lifted pavement pounder truck fan anyway.

he would have had to do an entire body swap to get the other differences aswell. that's not a 96 all the body lines are the next gen. had to go back and look at the pictures of my 97 closer as im pretty tired today.

its missing the sharper edge all the way down the body that would be in line with the rear window and side door windows. also the next gen had that wierd wheel arch indentation and the 90s had a full smooth arch transition. if it had a legitimate offroad style lift on it id pick it up either way. not into pavement pounders myself but some of those mall crawlers have actual nice lift kits under them.

Guy he bought it from must of up sold him on that “front end conversion”. Anything pre 99 is square body. That’s 2000+ all day.

BUT I guess the entire body could be on a 96 frame? Doesn’t seem logical to me

“ Hey Ron, I’ll ughhhh be a little late with the rent this month. See, I was on this Yukon forum, and they told me I needed to upgrade xyz. Then, once I got in there, I figured while I’m at it, might as well throw on the abc too! Well, anyway, my bank account is overdrawn. But come out here and see this sexy beast!”

“Hey, bye the way, can you spare a little cash? If I buy a new exhaust by the 15th there’s a 20% discount.”
