Wiper arms on my tahoe are faded and peeling. Anyone have experience with the Dorman replacements? Reviews on Amazon are very mixed regarding fit and finish. Price from Rockauto including shiping is about half of OEM from GM Parts Direct. I'm purchasing some other items so I'd like to get everything from RA if possible.

Are the police package wiper arms a direct swap?

as stated in the past 2 comments unless something is particularly wrong with the arm. if its just the finish your displeased with smooth them out and throw on a coating of your choosing. a heavy and light scotch bright pad and maybe a wire wheel on a drill will easily strip the paint or a chemical stripper. add a coat of black of your choice of quick dry paint and it will last longer than you think.

Why not just pop them off, scuff them up and rattle can them? Cheaper and quicker--and you know you have the right set.

It's not off the table, but I have other pressing to-do items so $45 would be well worth it to me. Based off internet pics I like the look of the police package arms. The stock ones look so dainty. A couple avalanche forum threads I've come across discuss it but don't go into detail.

I replaced all three wiper arms with ones from Rock Auto. I've had them for well over a year, and they look and work the same as they did the day that I purchased them.

I will advise you, however, that some folks on this Forum have experienced some paint peeling issues with wiper arms purchased from Rock Auto. But, for what I paid for them from Rock Auto, if they end up peeling, I can replace them again for less money, even after 2 purchases, than I would have paid for other competing brands.
