Hello. Well, I'm giving up the mini van. I hung onto it after the kids grew up cause it was handy (and paid for). Now I just bought a '01 Tahoe Z71 in Forest Green Metallic. With 163,000 miles the engine and drivetrain are solid. Runs great, shifts smooth, and goes in and out of 4WD like butter. She does have lots of little issues. Today I replaced the fan motor resistor so now have all 5 fan speeds and the A/C works. I also found a screw to reattach the overhead console.
I plan to replace front and rear bumpers as they are dinged up and rusted. The side view mirror is cracked, the rear defogger power is disconnected, the drivers seat needs attention and the whipper sprayers shoot water everywhere except on the windshield, and one of the speakers has a buzz.
I'd also like to upgrade the head and taillights and put on a lift kit with some new wheels and tires.
Quick question: Will a similar year Silverado rear bumper bolt straight on?IMG_0399.jpg IMG_0402.jpg

im sure Miami dude meant the 00-06 section not 91-99 as that section doesn't particularly pertain to an 01 lol. however you will definitely get more responses in your particularly section related subject towards any of your questions. anyway welcome aboard not a fan of green but the truck looks solid.

Welcome! :Handshake:

Looks and sounds like a well maintained Tahoe. Gotta post up some pics when you get that lift on!

Welcome to the Forum from NH.

Lots of knowledgeable folks here who freely share their knowledge, experiences, and perspectives. Knowledge is power.

I hope that you will become a participating member in the Forum's discussions.

Nice looking truck, and I'm sure that you'll have good luck with it, if you do all required maintenance, and make any needed repairs before total component failure.

I relate to your minivan comments, as back in the day when the kids were young and at home, I always got the old minivan from my wife, when she upgraded to a new one. Funds were short, and I didn't like it at the time, even though the minivans were extremely adaptable for a household with active kids, and I could still easily load my 4x8 sheets of plywood or sheetrock into them for my home projects. But now, when I purchase the truck that "I" like, she can't say anything (well, she still does, but I've earned my right to make my own truck selection anyway).

Very nice Denali. My wife learned to drive in a K/5 Blazer. She finds as many excuses as I do to take the Tahoe out.
