Need some help finding a good strut set up. 2010 suburban on 35’s. Previous owner bought the truck with the lift kit already installed and stated it was a 6” lift but didn’t know which one. Getting under the truck there are no markings on the drop brackets but there are kicker brace supports that makes me think this is a Procomp kit. The shocks are shot all the way around. I’m ordering up the zone fox’s that are for a 3-5 rear lift and I’m deciding on what’s best for the front. 90% highway driving. It currently has the strut spacer which I would like to lose to improve the ride. Cant seem to find the Bilstein 7-9 anymore. The Mcgaughys don’t have the best reviews. FTS is a possibility just haven’t seen any reviews. Fox coil overs are also in the mix tho I feel would be over kill. If I have to I can keep the spacer and run stock Bilstein or Eibachs.

Doubtful it’s a ProComp if the front crossmember isn’t marked. Although my brother has a Trailmaster on his truck which is clearly a PC copy.

If you download and read the installation instructions for a PC lift or other brands you might expect it to be it should be possible to identify it. There’s some variation in how each company does it, particularly the front diff mount, and whether the rear drop uses drop brackets to keep the control arms parallel to the ground or not.

Best strut for what purpose is the question? If on pavement then there’s no reason to think a longer strut will do anything for you an OEM strut and spacer won’t do. If you’re shopping for off-road use then there’s other spendy options, with of course the price reflecting performance and features, such as do you want external reservoirs and / or adjustable clickers.

I’ll have to double check it against the trail master. I’ve read of people having a better ride after removing the spacer for a longer shock but maybe their shocks were just bad to begin with. If I have nothing to gain by dropping the spacer for a longer shock then it sounds like I would be better off with a bilstein/eibach setup. The fox coil overs are nice but I can’t justify the cost for what I’ll be using it for.

@Carp0331 Based on your picture I can see that you are already using a strut spacer on a factory strut. By swapping in a bilstein 5100 or 4600 to go along with your existing strut spacer it should be a nice upgrade. I would recommend the 4600 for softer pavement use, 5100 if you want to beat on it.

I have 2” strut spacer with stock struts and I didn’t notice any difference in on road ride quality.

My bad below is the link lol. I can get bilsteins for the rear and eibachs for the front as bilsteins are still on back order for the front. Just measured the 35’s and they are 33” tall with a 43” fender height. Leaning towards setting the fronts at 1” lift and adding a rear 1” spacer. The diff drop is 5” and cv’s are good.
