It’s called the RKE module but I think in 01 it was located somewhere else and the receiver is in the A-pillar. If you replace it go with a GM one and have it programmed at the dealer or with a Tech2. Don’t bother with the Dorman modules.
Very old thread but I wanna know as well! I was never able to get aftermarket to program, back in 2016 I was able to order 2 GM remotes and those worked perfect, they get beat up and now I need a replacement so hopefully one is still floating around in a warehouse. $113 in 2023 vs $87 In 2016
