I think its pretty sad that we have to live with a 24 gal tank on such a large road trip SUV. Even with the Duramax you are only looking at 500-550 mile range safely...
28 min would have been better....

When you get old (speaking from experience) you'll end up stopping more often anyway. Pee breaks. Might as well gas up and get another cup 'o java.

Truth! I used to have a 400 mile bladder and backside, but now, not so much.

So has anyone experienced this on the new 21 Yukons or do most of yours fill up 22-23 regularly?

So I’m still seeing the issue of not being able to get anymore than 20 gallons in per tank. Can someone confirm if they’ve been able to put more than 21 or 22 gallons of gas into their tank? Either I have a problem with my gas tank or GM advertised falsely by stating their is a 24 gallon gas tank, when in reality it’s something closer to 21. 3 to 4 gallons of unusable fuel seems very strange to me and I’ve never had this happen with any of my other vehicles across brands. Generally it’s within .5 to 1 gallon of capacity when you run it down low.

I’m curious if anyone else has experienced this. I find it hard to believe three gallons of gas is in the fuel lines.

Thoughts?

The system is calibrated to have the light come on when there's still 4-5 gallons or so on board. I do not know what the calibrations are for yours yet but this little chart is from mine and may give you an idea to work from:
