Hi guys, couldn't really find a title about this supercharger kit here on the forum. This really grabbed my attention when I was talking to my mechanic-mate. I was talking about the Whipple's and stuff and he came up with this set. Obviously not the power capable of the Whipple 2.3 prolly but a nice way in between. As described pretty plug and play, and for the 1999+ Vortecs instead of a lot that are for the 2003 bi-fuel engine. Here is the link: the only thing you need to do is a intercooler setup and a tune (@BlackBearPerf do you guys can help with this kit? also? https://torqstorm.com/product/kits_single_silverado_99-06/

So I'm wondering who has experience with this or maybe knows people? It's like half the price of the Whipple. But in my opinion that does not mean the quality is bad, I rather think it's because of the capability of this kit against a Whipple kit... But if I would run a Torqstorm, it would be comparable to you guys running a Whipple. :D NL people can make huge horsepower cars but that's mostly BMW and Honda. But anyways.... What ya guys reckon?

ive seen people use that brand on ss camaros. they seem to work well.

a lot of people prefer this type of blower, they have more to offer up top, you can drop a pulley to make more boost, and im pretty sure they got a restrictor plate on the filter inlet of the case that can come out and you'll make more boost as well.

make sure you change the balancer, stock wont last long. and you can also buy a over drive pulley for the blower belt.

if the kit dont come with injectors you'll likely need them as well as a fuel pump booster or a larger fuel pump. then of course it all needs to be tuned.

ive got the ECS procharger on my camaro. same deal just a different brand. ive also got a cam, and a 12% overdrive pulley for the blower. makes about 7 psi.

Cool Will look into that Brand too! Used to more rotrex style superchargers here in Europe..

And there will be NA tuning first before any blower will come on. You’ve cams that are work well both with and without blowers

One of the nicest things about the torqstorm kit is that it comes with a dedicated 8rib drive setup. No need for a crazy pulley set for all your accessories and if the blower belt breaks it's okay because you'll still have a water pump and power steering. I've been considering one for a while I just don't feel like doing a fuel system. also its capable of about 700hp which is more than enough to make traction with street tires incapable

We would be happy to help. Looks like we have tuned some customers with that supercharger. It would be AutoCal only tuning, whenever you are ready shoot us a quick email with all the details.

tuning it na before the blower install is pointless. if you cam it a lot of people do use na cams and do just fine, but a blower cam would complement the boost much better. you also will need a higher stall torque converter with a cam install.

dont think ECS makes a kit for trucks. they are a corvette and camaro and caddy shop for the most part, all GM but not so much for trucks, ive seen em post up a gm truck they put a maggy blower on. but they dont sell a kit for that one either. they do design the kits themselves and have them mass produced. they also cost way more, but your getting a full kit with a ic with all piping, injectors fp booster ect ect. https://eastcoastsupercharging.com/

even the tq storm set up, you still need to buy a lot of stuff to finish the install. like you want a intercooler, only way id pass on it is maybe if i was running meth injection to help cool the intake air.

Well 700 hp is way more I would go for. (Lets keep that quote xD). Yes you see with Whipple for example they put a 160amp dynamo with the package. But that set is for 2003+, and we've all seen @Rocket Man struggle with his 2002. What about he fuel system, some better injectors would do the job?

Great to hear. I'm in the Netherlands. Already in contact with you guys via e-mail. Thanks for the reply :)

So if I understand right, you recommend or go for a NA tune OR a SC? By na tuning I not only mean a tune and cam, but intake, headers, exhaust, the usual drop on stuff...

I indeed want a package that is really made for this year motor. I need to convert to e-fan. The set will indeed need a intercooler but that does not have to break the bank or am I wrong? And some injectors ofcourse, but that's pretty much it since I'm already in contact with BBP for ordering the V3.

if going cam and bolt on's and plan to add boost later, you'll need a retune once you add boost, regardless of type of blower you use. you need to drop the timing or it will blow up ya pretty fast. aka lots of knock retard, and then come the chipped pistons.

as far as cost of the parts, i could see another $1000 usd easy in injectors, ic and piping and fuel pump. injectors, a good name brand are not cheap. figure easy 5-600. you dont want any of that ebay china made junk.

Since you’re going with the Autocal doing a tune first will be easy plus you can get the efan turned on, then after the blower you can have another tune emailed. It takes minutes to install so in reality you can tune it as many times as needed. I have had mine tuned 4-5 times as I made changes. You’ll want one after the cam for sure. I would do the initial tune with the efan pin in the ECM enabled plus the trans tune will be included which by itself will make a huge change. Then if you do a cam before the blower, get one for that. Headers,CAI and such don’t need a tune by themselves but maybe install them same time as the cam so they’re included when you do that data log. Then when you do the blower of course you need a tune for that. Consult with BB along the way, they’ll answer questions but be aware it takes awhile like a week or more to get an answer so get your questions in order before emailing them.
