Hey guys! Got a 2012 Tahoe LT. Years ago I put a leveling kit on it and bigger wheels and tires. Specifically I did the 2.5" in front and 1" in rear spacers with 20" wheels and 33" tires (255 60 r20). I instantly noticed it rode alot stiffer. Because of that I got the Bilstein 5100 extended shocks for the rear. They can be used for 0-1 inch spacers.

I now think I need new shocks in the front as I'm at like 125k miles and still have the originals. I also want a smoother ride and am willing to go down in height.

What would be the best course of action?

I was told I can't go back to stock because my tires are too big.

I was wondering if could remove front and rear spacers and go with 5100s adjustable in the front (as I already have 5100 in the rear). Wouldl that work? Or would my front be too tall?

A shop told me I had to keep the rear spacer and put the 5100s in front to the top position. What are yalls thoughts? I would rather take all the spacers out as I still fell like the rear is stiffer than stock.

when i had that setup i didn’t notice a difference in the ride except for the way more aggressive tires felt.

You dont need the rear spacer for 33s but you do need atleast 2” lift in front or youll be rubbing (you may rub a little anyway at full lock depending on the tire and truck) You should be fine with the 5100s in front if you keep a level lift on them Or you can leave the spacer and have the 5100 in front left at stock height.

did you mean 275/60r20 ? cause the 255/60r20s are 32”

im not a pro at this im just going off what my experience was. Other here are way more knowledgeable and should be along haha

I removed my rough country front level and kept my 275/60/20 for a few months. They didn’t rub. The aftermarket KYB struts actually gave the front a little bump over the worn out originals so that helped a bit
