Hi guys-

Curious if anyone has added a USB connector (looking to connect to my aftermarket radio replacement) in the center console (sourced from a LT Tahoe) that has a power plug. Been looking at something like this ( https://www.amazon.com/20944422-Socket-Chevrolet-Silverado-2012-2014/dp/B07K4CVGFX ) and do a swap and then run a cable from the radio to the jack so that I can use car play.

Any and all input would be appreciated.

Thanks!

Just for reference - I am in the process of replacing all factory GM audio with Fosgate speakers, Fosgate sub, 5 channel amp, JVC receiver, back up camera, and integrated Sirius tuner.

Oddly enough, exactly like that!!!! :favorites37:

I should have searched a little more so my apologies!

Just ordered all the goodies including the cables, covers, and connector to install in the console vs. the dash.
ya the factory usb connector in the console on the 2010+ is just a mini usb male to female usb a, depending on what headunit you have you may need a adapter

As @NathanJax posted, that is the way to go. I replaced one of the two cigarette lighter style jacks on my 07 Yukon XL Denali with this USB jack for the exact same reason that you want to add a USB jack to your dash.

My SSV doesnt have a USB in the console but rather a power jack (not sure its connected) which is worthless to me having 2 of them in the dash now! I picked up an adapter specifically for the connector that locks in as I was concerned it may come loose (anything that can go wrong-WILL) if I just used an extension cable...here is what I got!

FWIW-those of you who have SSV/PPVs without a camera-I chose one that went in the factory location and with an angled mount...It looks pretty stock which is what I was wanting...Was pretty easy to install once I got the trim panel off the lift gate! That will make you invent new curse words..... :flame:
