I got so excited about purchasing a 2021 Denali XL, but now that it's financially a good time, it seems impossible to get one.

I'm trying to find a white frost with ultimate package and shale interior but the nearest one is 1000 miles away from where I live in northern California.

So I said, fine, I'll just order one like so many of you on this forum have and wait 8-12 weeks and I'll have exactly what I want. I was worried because I currently qualify for a first responder discount and the costco $1k and may not be offered when it arrives, but I figured I'll take a chance. Well after emailing 3 dealers, they all said they can take my order but have no idea when their next allocation is. One dealer said that the Denali production has constrains and they're currently not being manufactured and not processing orders. Has anyone had this experience? Wow!! So I went from excitement to the idea of maybe getting one by summer. Oh well, it is what it is.

But then I thought, maybe I should purchase the one that's 1000miles away and have it shipped. Has anyone done this and had a good experience? Living in california, it has to be California 50 state emission compliant and I can't find if all of them are or are some 49 state certified? Any input on this would be great.

Thanks and Happy Holidays.

I don’t know all the details nor am I in anyway an expert but I assume you can probably buy it and have it shipped from outta state for cheaper than you can buy a vehicle in California.

Standard practice having a vehicle shipped, would be a good option especially with all of the uncertainty going on in the world.

So can anyone confirm that all the 2021 Yukons are 50 state emission compliant and not 49 state.
I know in the past some cars were
made with special versions designed to meet California requirements? Last thing I want is to buy an out of state car and realize it can’t be registered here.

I'm in the same boat with a '21 Denali Diesel order. It has been pending pickup from GM for over three weeks. If you need it before March, you probably should look at the current inventory.

I ordered a Yukon XL AT4 8 weeks ago and I am still waiting for it to go into production. Chat is not helpfully at all. All they can tell you is the status of your vehicle.

I bought my 21 Yukon in Idaho and live in Washington state. The build sheet on mine says:

Emissions Override, Federal
CT/MA/MD/ME/NJ/NY/OR/PA/RI/VT/WA Emissions

Ask the dealer 1000 miles away for clarification on the emissions.
