Play in steering rack?

No shaving on mine I had it pretty greased up once I had it on the first nub flush I would wack the bottom of the mount with the sledge then use the crow to level out the top. So far the bushing just feels like a new bushing. I'm not sure if the headache of getting this on is worth changing a regular one every year or so. I'll update as I go. I have changed my rack several times over the years so this is just another trial and error.

BTW I'm not sure if I mentioned but I snapped one of the 18mm bolts and spent a long time getting it out. Anyone know the torque specs for these bolts?

I bought this kit. Ive read that some if the bolts that are removed for this install are tty. Anyone know the part numbers for replacement bolts? Thanks

I have seen a shop in CA make a pretty slick billet bushing/mount kit for our racks. Takes all the play out but, its pretty expensive.



Very cool, simple enough to. How thick was the material that you used?
I'll have to get under there and get some dimensions and whip one up for myself.

I think they are TTY bolts and should be replaced.
