Son put a cold air intake on his Silverado. Don't know if it made any power but sure sounded nice, like an old four barrel carb. Gear change is a really good power improvement and with the high geared overdrive you don't really lose any highway driveability. I'd go to a 3:73 back there myself. I'm not a big fan of headers, too much heat and lots of aggravation. A good sounding muffler would be a good addition though. I'd like to have a report on the before/after deal with the tune, hear good and bad on that mod.

EXCELLENT, I HAVE CAPLESS GAS PORT.
CAI IS BOUGHT, BUT WILL B RETURNED.
FOR THE REAR END I THOUGHT IF I JUST CHANGED MY GEARS UP SOME I COULD GET SOME MORE UMMPH. IT SEEMS LIKE I HAVE TO MAKE IT GO. I DON'T KNOW IF CHANGING GEARS IS THE WAY TO GO OR NOT. GOTTA DIG SOME MORE ON THAT.
I HAVE ALWAYS DRIVEN A RAM 5.7 FOR THE LAST 13 YEARS (4 OF THEM ALL NEW AND RAN LIKE A RAM). JUST USED TO THE GO.
DEFINITELY GONNA DO A TUNE PROBABLY IN AMARILLO. IF U HAVE LEWS NUMBER PASS IT ALONG, YOU GUYS HAVE BEEN GREAT, THX FOR ALL THE HELP.

HAPPY THANKSGIVING.

Keep the CAI it makes top cleaning and throttle body cleaning a breeze

if I go to the 3.73 will I have to replace the entire rear end or just the axles gears and other associated parts?

James if I go to the different gears will I have to change the entire rear end?

Not the whole housing or axles, just the carrier and ring and pinion and associated parts. In that link, they call it the differential case, right above the gears.

Call those guys and or talk to Eaton, they make a stronger case.
