I was curious who has experienced these "Rich Bank" codes P0172 & P0175. What was the solution? I'm wondering if it's the high pressure fuel pump. Tahoe runs fine, but I got the light last week. Changed the oil and it went away. It appears to come on if I sit idle to long.

Any thoughts or opinions are greatly appreciated.

My 2015 LTZ has been throwing check engine light for the past 2 months, on and off, on and off. I was having a hard time getting in for it to be checked and then had to cancel my appointment due to COVID at my kids' school.

I got tired of worrying about what the light meant so bought a scanner. Got the same codes you have mentioned. Rich Fuel in both Bank 1 and Bank 2. Was able to make an appointment at the dealer.

Long story short -> the Tahoe is in at the shop tonight and hope to hear back by Friday (several other "items" being taken care of).

WILL LET YOU KNOW WHAT THEY SAY!

Yes, please keep me posted. I believe mine is being caused by the high pressure fuel pump under the intake leaking. My engine light usually kicks on if it sits and idles to long, but rarely if at all while driving. I've noticed a mild hesitation when starting and a different smell from the exhaust as well. Almost has an acetone like smell.

Do you have a warranty? Thank you for replying and good luck!

how many miles do you have?

check & replace your air filter
check & clean your MAF or throttle body
check spark plugs/wires

another forum said dealer cleaned injectors
2 others said, High pressure fuel pump needed replaced due to it having small leak

YES! Your description is EXACTLY what my Tahoe has been doing the past 2 months. Whenever I sit in idle for too long (@ the bank, line at McDs etc) the check engine comes on sometime that day.

I have 95,400 miles on my 2015 LTZ and and extended warranty. Taking the kiddos to school/daycare and then to the office. Will check back in this afternoon w/ info from dealership.

I added a Route 66 extended warranty on mine, which has been pretty good and even replaced the transmission so far. I don't mind swapping out the pump myself if the warranty doesn't cover it, but I'd rather the garage do it for me now that it's getting colder outside lol. I am currently at 139,000mi on my 15 LT.

Just spoke with the Chevy service advisor.

Diagnosis: Leaking high pressure fuel pump
Remedy: Replace fuel pump & full oil change (fuel leaking into engine oil)
Costs: Covered by my extended warranty (YES!!!)

@nglauer - Hope this helps you make a decision on what you want to do with your truck...

Stay safe out there!

Thank you! I'm going to stop by the dealership in the next hour and ask them as well.

Thanks again!
