Sunroof issues

Posted this in the suburban section too but apparently no one looks there LOL. Just went through my first carwash and my sunroof has a small leak. It is not the drains. The seal came off of the glass a bit on the front passenger side. Can the seal be replaced? If so, any tips? TIA

I found the seal, but I'm just curious about how to do it? Do I need to take the glass out of the truck? Is so, how? Thanks

The seal is fairly straight forward to install, but I would recommend taking the glass out of the vehicle to do it. There are 2 screws on each side that hold the glass to the brackets.

It helps to spray a little silicone on the seal to help it slide over the edge and engage the groove around the edge of the glass.

When you put the glass back in, make sure you get the glass centered in the opening and that the front edge is flush to slightly lower than the roof line and the rear is flush to slightly higher than the roof line.

Take copius notes as you will probably be doing it again in the near future. I've never seen a sunroof that does leak and cause problems. The worst kind is where it seeps/leaks through without going all the into the interior. Just rusts the roof from the inside until it erupts on the top. Unfortunately, it's too late by then. If anyone could take some pics of the brackets and screws that'd be cool...kinda looked and couldn't see them. Thanks again guys

You can see them if you pop the two accordion trim pieces off each side. Will need to pull the interior trim piece that goes around the opening in the headliner.

While you have the glass out, I would recommend that you take some string trimmer line or something like it and run it down the two drain lines that are located at the front corners of the sunroof frame to clean them out. If they are really dirty, you may need to try and run the line up the drain tubes from the bottom to un-wedge whatever is in there.

This video is not for the nnbs but it's the same concept.
Make sure you mark the screw location. Use those marks to put back in the screws in the same location. If you don't you will get wind noise.
