Anyone upgrade to a leather dashboard in there Yukon or Tahoe?

That dashboard upper is a disappointment. I’m going to get it covered in hopefully a Cognac brown or victory red leather. Please share if you’ve done so.

Take pics from the internet or off a Platinum Escalade. You’ll be able to show the shop where the factory put all the seams.

I looked into this with our 08 Yukon. The shop planned on repairing the dash cracks and adding a top (flexible epoxy like) coating to keep the dash from cracking again before the leather was laid out.

They also needed the windscreen removed. Now’s the time to replace the glass if needed. The leather the factory uses on the Platinum is shaved thiiiiinnnn!

Im looking to get all the tan pieces inside my tahoe wrapped or painted black and getting my headliner redone in black.

I'd love to get a leather dash added too

When your headliner is out apply some mat product to the roof. All the boom and cavitation goes away so you can actually have a conversation with someone in the back seat.

That makes sense. There is a top panel you can buy that goes over a crack dash. I’ve seen some really bad cracks. I think armoral will keep the dash from cracking too.

Not trying to hijack this thread, but does anyone know how much help a leather wrap would provide in terms of increasing longevity of these dashboards? Petethepug, I believe you have one of the escalades with the leather dash? Any issues at all with yours or any knowledge as to how those dashes hold up compared to the plastic standard dashes? I picked up a pristine used dash with a working bose center spieker , all wood trim pieces, vents, and even the unused airbag for $50 recently and was prepared to pay the dealer to try and order a new one for an 09 Yukon Denali. So I have some funds to spend to try and make this one last as long as possible and just trying to see if it's worth getting leather put on this used one I purchased.

As a professional detailer I would highly recommend you NOT use armor all at all. It’s one of the worst products out there for automotive uses. It will leave the dash a greasy mess with an almost reflective sheen that will make it hard to see past when in direct sunlight. Also, I have seen armor actually cause some dashes to crack over the years of repeated use by other detailers.

This is true--about the glare. Also don't use it on your steering wheel. I know that's fairly obvious--but you never know.
