Well, "Who" is saying this? It's good maintenance practice to spray the bushings to keep them lubricated which delays the bushings from drying out. Such a term has vastly different meanings, I'll let the guys explain those to you! ;)

i bought it to repack my ball bearings in my bike. The crank used to sound like a broken honda wheel hub now it rides like a brand new one no noise. i put like 350 miles in the last 3 months on it

i'm saving up for a newer bike so not a big deal

Well, if it is all original there will be two zerk fittings only, one on each tie rod end. That's it. That grease will be fine. Our original u-joints are solid and sealed, no zerk fittings.
i'll have it done when i get the oil changed :) does the rack and pinion need to be lubed? it has electric rack and pinion steering just like the 2015 model

Lots of original steering and suspension components have no grease zerks. Replace with aftermarket and then you start seeing them. I lube the crap out of everything that has a zerk. I always only lube one way. First I completely clean the zerk dry. If you just grease thru a dirt grease zerk you push dirt in with the grease. When I see fresh grease being pushed out of wherever it escapes, I then wipe that area and zerk dry again. Spray lube on the bushings. I dab those dry so I don't remove all of what I just lubed. I also lube the door seals, hatch seals and the seals at the sun roof. That is the perfect time to run a little air, lower pressure, thru the sunroof drains.
