This the one in your avatar? I practice the same rule as you, but you tried to do the right thing in good conscience. Hopefully they'll remember that if something happens that was beyond your control.

I was at my American Legion a couple days ago and a friend there asked to borrow $5. I said no. He does a blinking double take and asks why. I told him that I never lend money to friends and family. I asked if he ran out of cash and wanted one more drink. He said yes. I said, no problem, I will buy the drink.

I do the same with friends and family about selling vehicles. I will sell in an emergency but only at a reduced price so they can see I am not trying to get full boat price and it is sold as is.

Now that you sold your Tahoe are you gone from forum or have another in the works? Or are you buying something else r already bought something else and are going to stick around to jabber jaw?

I like your style. I don’t let family or friends borrow money either. I give them money if they need it and if they choose to pay me back, so be it.

I am a firm believer in the thought that as soon as money is owed between family or friends, it changes the relationship and not for the better.

haven't been using it since march actually transferred the registration off it in march. just been running it around the block occasionally to keep the fluids and grease moving. bought a mercury mountaineer early march and sat on the tahoe for a while until i officially made the decision. tried to sell it for a little over a month with no luck just people asking for parts or offering me scrap price. gave up and stopped trying to sell it then following week a friends xterra lost the transmission. they are in the middle of some life adjustments and cant go without a vehicle for long and wanted an suv. ive done vehicle work for them in the past and hes been in my truck numerous times so he jumped on it without question. paid me my min price i was hoping for and drove it 60 miles home.

mountaineer just happened to be a premier version with alot of the options i wanted with the good engine. alot less mileage and no issues vs my 97 which had some minor issues nothing serious but 10 yrs older and 50k more mileage(176k). and interior and exterior on the mountaineer condition arguably made my tahoe look like a jalopy in comparison.
