Hey everyone! We just bought our new to us 2005 Yukon XL Denali last night. It's got 144k miles on it which I think is great and we can put MANY more miles on it. About 10 years ago I had a 1999 GMC Sierra Z71 and got it to around 250k miles with very little issues, and a close friend of mine has an 03 Silverado that has right under 600k miles on it! Really confident with these vehicles lasting a long time if they're maintained properly.

So our Denali has captain chairs, rear entertainment system (even still has the remote and 3 headsets), and the Bose touch screen head unit with a lifetime subscription to XM radio. It also has the upgraded wheels, so I think this Yukon has every option offered.

The interior plastics have some of the gray scratched off and the black is showing from underneath like on the cup holder area and the buttons are showing wear, but other than that it's all in great shape inside. Also some of the lights behind the gauge aren't working and the PRND321 isn't displaying at all, so I'll have to crack into that and solder in some new lights and likely fix a cold joint for the display.

The paint is in okay condition. Hood and roof are the worst, but you can't really see the roof so I'm not really concerned with it. I'm going have the hood repainted by a friend. The back glass opens and shuts, but it doesn't shut all the way. I'm not sure why. I've looked at it briefly and can't get it to shut entirely, but it does shut enough for the lock to work and nobody can get in, so I'll address that soon.

So our plans are to tint the windows and windshield and I'm going to pull off the headlights and parking lights to sand and clear coat them and then install Morimoto LED's and some LED daytime running lights. Also want to get rid of the factory style tail lights and go for the nearly solid red ones and the small clear section for the reverse, all LED of course too. I'd also love to get the Escalade roof rack and third brake light assembly.

This is basically going to be the wife's daily driver and for our family vacations. We're upgrading from her 2017 Kia Soul (vomits). I daily drive a 1982 Dodge D50 pickup with 748k miles 70 miles a day, and I also have a built 1997 Pontiac Trans Am WS6, and a 1999 Mazda Miata.

Look forward to being a part of the group!View attachment 252046
Congrats - she’s a beaut!!! The wheels look great and the color is awesome. I love seeing prime examples of 15+yo cars and trucks

Great looking truck! That was my first color choice I had picked out when I was shopping for this generation Denali! It’s my absolute favorite color on the Denali! I love it! Lol. Welcome for another GMT800 Denali XL owner! If you’re interested I have a full set of the Escalade roof racks up for grabs and they are the current length for your truck! Let me know if you’re interested!

If you still have them later on I'll grab them, but don't hold them for me. Not sure when we're going to be ready to buy them. Currently doing things that aren't just cosmetic. New HID headlights and LED fog lights are on the way this week, window tint is an absolute necessity for us in the south, and then I plan on grabbing some LED tail lights and starting on the cosmetic side of things. I think I'll be grabbing another hood to get started on prepping and looking for the Escalade items around the same time.

Thanks to everyone for all the welcomes! We're making our first mini trip this coming weekend down to Charleston, SC to visit my mom. Can't wait to finally have room for the dogs and kids without being all cramped up.
