I like that method but $20 for a diode and a couple connectors means they’re making a bunch of money. I tried to figure this method out on my own but failed so since they have figured it out all I need to do is find out which way the diode is turned and use their pin outs on the BCM connectors and we will have the easy super cheap auto fog lights mod. Anybody else want to give it a try? Or maybe one person should buy the kit just to see which way it’s wired.
I thought the same thing but it is nicely built, the video's show the directions, someone would just need to buy 1 and dissect it.

Why would you even need a diode? You can't turn the fog lights on unless the park lamps are on anyway so why not just jump the two wires? it's the same as the wire jumping the control feed for the two relays under the hood right?

I believe the diode is so you can still operate the fog lights like normal if you wanted to

There must be a need or their instructions wouldn’t tell you to install it in a certain direction. And like Wes said, it’s probably so the fogs work without the park lights. I tried jumping the BCM trigger wires but I was going from the headlight relay trigger to the fog lights relay trigger wires and it didn’t work right. I tried it with and without a diode.

Maybe I am missing something or maybe i'm just slow but why would you want your fog lights on when your parking lights are on? Is it just an appearance thing? Why wouldn't you just turn your headlights on? I'm confused.

better to be seen than not seen, it's just ease of use, set it and forget it.
also there is a highway right by me that requires you to have lights on, it's a 2-lane death alley a lot of people die on it every year 70mph head on collisions all the time

Just to never have to manually turn your fog lights on. We’ve been doing these full-time mods forever- full-time DRL, fogs, 4-high etc. Sometimes it’s for appearance or to be seen better by other drivers, sometimes for convenience. Why not, I spent a small fortune on Morimoto XB LED’s and I always forgot to turn them on. I like to run them all the time at night, fog or no fog.
