For the first time with the suburban, I towed an about 4500lb boat trailer about 50 miles using M4 and tow mode. I was impressed that the power was pretty good even with the stock 3.08 gears, and handling wasn’t bad. Trailer has surge brakes. Tranny only got as high as 201.

Now up the bridge hill it was screaming in 2nd gear, but those hills are few and far between for my towing area.

Getting ready to pull a travel trailer we are picking up this weekend with the wife's Yukon. Added proportional brake controller, ditched the P-rated Continentals that came with it, and added air lift bags inside the coils to firm up the suspension. I went with Load range E Ridge Grapplers in the stock size and was impressed with how it changed the look. We are going from a newer F-250 diesel with a 10k trailer to a smaller 5700 lb trailer with the Yukon. I am interested to see how the towing experience varies, lol. We only pull max 3 or 4 hours down around the Houston area no mountains or big hills, just some highway overpasses and have a nice equalizer WDH. I am hoping the 5.3 with the 3.08 rear end can get it done. :driver:

Don't forget about Tow/Haul mode on your gear selector.

Up here to the right
Threw the cross bars up on top for the Yakima Skybox. Going down the shore for a few days and I don’t want sandy kid stuff in the back back.
And...... drumroll plz..... I finally fixed the driver side pwr running board that has clicked from the rear hinge since I bought this turd brandy new.
I was getting tired of hearing the loud ‘click’ every time the door opened or closed. last year I loosened the rear bolt that attaches the boards to the rockers.... noise stopped... as soon as I tightened it back up noise came back...then I got sidetracked...ooh squirrel...I originally was going to stick some foam in between the board bracket and rocker but while I was under there today I decided to loosen them all, I actually removed the rear 2 bolts, cycled the boards about 19,000 times, then tightened them all up starting at the rear....it appears to have stopped clicking, but time will tell ....as the rugrats jump in and out of it.
Gonna hit everything under there with some sillycone and call it a day.

Evacuated and Recharged the AC today, since I spent yesterday afternoon buying a new condenser.

Oreilly's had a Murray condenser in stock for $150

One bottle of 46 wt to pour an ounce and a half in the new condenser. $9

3 cans of R134 $15

4 hours labor. It's not really a big deal at all to replace.
Did this about two months ago. Pretty easy job.
