I have a 2003 GMC Yukon 5.3 L. My passenger front door lock does not respond or open from the inside or outside. I removed the door panel yesterday and disassembled the lock mechanism and the part I received was a wrong part. My actuator has three plugs that come off the pot I received had two plugs so I am going to return it. I reassembled everything except putting the door panel back on so I can at least close the door. I am now having trouble pulling the rod so I can open the door any help would be greatly appreciated. The rod feels very loose and isn’t putting enough tension on the lock mechanism to get the door open. Like I stated the door panel is off. Also does anybody recommend a fairly decent price website to get the part. Thank you for your support

Check the rod again. I know that they can be put on backwards and will not work as well.

I was able to get the door open the other day I did check the rods and they were good. I replaced the door lock actuator. The problem I am having now is when I close the door the latch on the actuator isnt grabbing the door. The door looks like ir is closed but isnt. Is there an adjustment to make that actuator grab the hinge to keep the door closed. Thank you for your support and any help is appreciated

If I close the door and im sitting in the passenger seat if I lean on the door too hard it can open without pulling the handle to open it. This is driving me nuts

Usually it is the post that is adjusted, not the latch. If it is too far out, then the door itself may be out.

The post meaning what. Is that the piece attach to the body of the car that the actuator latch grabs When you close the door

I would take it apart again, check your work, and reassemble. You must have not got something back together right. Did you remove the actual latch? If not, you might want to do that and check to see if anything got bent or damaged.
