I figured out mine is broken

well i tried to go above 3k RPM and NOTHING
Same in all gears

I think the "mystery" of the P061B has been solved

it's not the transmission

this a key on sweep MAX AMOUNT it opens

2000RPM SPEED in park

Now we got a 5.3L engine at 2,000 rpm

Interesting. Hope that fixes your issue.

Just curious. What did your throttle position sensor show on your scan tool? Was it showing that the throttle was open when you were at 2000 rpm’s even though it wasn’t open physically? Did you see any movement at all, even at higher rpm’s? I ask because I would think you would get a code if your throttle position didn’t correlate close enough to your accelerator position.

i willing to bet those plastic gears are spent but there is a flaw in the Throttle position sensor it self. THE fail safe system. or something broke inside but is still reporting correct values

the plate can be moved by hand so that is not messed up

Throttle position sensor and peddle sensor are working showing increase percentage etc.. but the butterfly does not move also the TPS CAN increase the RPM without pressing the gas peddle (it's random sometimes when taking foot off the brake it revs up to 2k rpm by it self)

Basically a good way to put it is the, "Fail safe system" FAILED

luckily the back end (transmission) can see this issue and will drop to neutral gear or immediately stall out (you cant run 6,000rpm with a closed throttle plate)
the freeze frame data shows 35 on the short term fuel trim

and only run the generator. that is why it's getting the P061B transmission code..

the spring is nice and tight on the butterfly and has good snap back

i suspect it failed in such a way that the motor can move it but not the butterfly so everything reports A-ok to the computer what i suspect is the metal rod broke where it enters the housing where the gears are. and the plastic gears are ok.. there for the sensor "is correct"..

then occasionally it catches and full throttle, event happens as the plate is now stuck open tell I key off and it does a Power on self test which resets the plate closed
