Hello Everyone,

I own a 2009 LTZ Tahoe (Original Owner), and I would like to invest money in upgrading the suspension.

what I am looking for:

- stock height if possible
- sway bars
- control arms
- best shocks/struts
- anything else that’s need to be done to get everything out of the way.

If there is already a complete package out there please let me know. I read good reviews of a Gentlemen named Tony on this site but I am not sure if he is still in business.

Thank you in advance.

Welcome to the forum from Oregon..also:

We recommend that you put all your rig(s) info in your signature so we all don’t have to guess at year, make, model, engine size, trans, rear axle locker…….etc. While you may have posted pertinent info in your first post, you may forget to do it again and the info is needed by us anyway. Makes it way easier on all members that attempt to help, to have that info right up front. It is also recommended that you take a pic of your RPO codes, on the inside cover of the glove box, and post that image in your signature. All this info will greatly help those that will try to help with a problem.

If there is any other info, like upgrades, mods or recent mechanical/maintenance work done, that would be helpful in any post as well. Too many times a question is asked by the poster and after about 10 responses we find out that the poster has done recent work to attempt to fix the problem or work that was done that SEEMS not related to the problem.

Someone will chime in with your info.

If a moderator could move this to one of the normal forums, it might get some more views and replies. Seems as if you inadvertently posted up in the PPV/SSV forum with us cheapo surplus drivers. :D I'll report it so it gets moved for ya.

If you are referring to Tony, aka @NORCAL SS , he is indeed still selling what you need. Your best bet is probably to call or message him directly, he's help an absolute ton of folks get the right setup for them. He will need to know what you want out of it, are you looking for a stock ride but better performance? Since you mentioned stock height.....

I personally feel that if youre going to do the job, might as well do it once. Unfortunately, it will cost more, and involve replacing fine parts.....but you may have a ball joint this month, and then a different joint next, and so on. If I spend a day per side and replace EVERYTHING...then I dont have to waste time breaking it down to replace the part again. So, not sure if that is a good way to operate or not, but at rockauto the joints are like 30-40 bucks for the premium stuff...so it only makes sense.

I personally got the billstien 4600 shocks all the way around. Others like the 5100...I didnt see any benefit to me, so I went 4600. They seem fine, and again were only about 40 bucks a piece.

Again rockauto is your friend. When it comes to suspension and steering parts, buying locally costs a fortune. One thing I did do with amazon is get the two pitman arm possibilities. When I found I didnt use the 4 spline unit, I dropped it off at kohls for return and got all my money back, so there's a benefit to amazon too.

I installed the 2/4 lowering kit and have since brought the Tahoe back to the stock height. If I had to do it all over again I'd do a set of good coil overs and call it a day. Don't forget sway bars also.
