Im planning on putting 315/70r17s on my 06 tahoe z71. Everything is stock on it but Im also planning on getting a six inch lift. Is there anything else I would need like spacers or anything?

On stock wheels? Go to the tire size calculator on line and see how much wider and taller they are vs your current set up and see how far you’d have to go up to clear everything. Lots of us run 305’s but shorter sidewall like 40.

I'm thinking that a 315 tire width may be too wide for a stock rim width, at least as per the tire manufacturer's specifications. When I installed my 305/50x20 Michelin Defenders on my stock 20 x 8.5 rims, Michelin stated that that was the widest tire that they would specify for an 8.5 rim width.

Perhaps, other tire manufacturers have different specifications for minimum rim widths for 315 tires. I recommend that you research this a bit (in addition to discussing it on the Forum), just to be sure.

I won’t be using the stock wheels, my brother has 16x8-12 offset rims he’s gonna sell to me so those are the ones I’ll be using
