Lews WOT runs we’re missing my KR pids so I had to redo it. As soon as I let off oil pressure dropped and dic said low oil pressure shut off engine... pulled over, checked for leaks, found none, restarted to have regular oil pressure again and slowly dropped to zero after 2-3 miles. Rinse repeat a couple times before I called roadside assistance.
Not good. Keep us posted. Maybe the pickup tube o-ring?

I had it towed to a shop that I feel is proficient with LS motors. I’ll wait to see what his findings are. I unfortunately live in an apartment at the moment and have no place to work on it myself. The screen is my first thing to check, hoping the VLOM is restricting flow. I also am hearing an off idle ticking noise.... hoping it’s just a afm lifter so I have an excuse to install a dod delete cam. Here I was thinking the 4L60E would grenade before I had motor problems... My fault for beating on an old motor and if I gotta replace it I will. The chassis is solid.

Sorry the oil was changed back in April, penzoil 5w30 according to the sticker and an ACDelco filter. It was a quart low so I’m hoping I didn’t starve it... kicking myself for not checking the oil level before the WOT run but really don’t know that it would have changed a thing... time will tell.

Heard a fun new sound that from what I can tell will be a treat to diagnose.

when I turn the steering right to full lock, back up and then straighten the wheels I hear a “pop” or “snap” sound. It has only done it three times so far.

Anyone have experience with this one?

most commonly that is from the sway bar bushings needing to be lubed I have to do mine about every 6 months and then sometimes it does it anyway when it rains, could also maybe be worn ball joints, you can check those with a jack and a crow bar. might want to also check your control arms, tie rods, motor mounts.

reset the average mpg, filled it up with mid grade, put in 2 bottles of injector cleaner, reset the fuel trims and then drove it about 80 miles, 35 miles highway one way, about 10 miles of city driving, then another 35 miles back
got 12.4mpg on the way there went down to 10 around town and then back up to 11 on the way back, driving about 80-85mph, 111 deg outside :flame::flame::flame:

Thanks, I will have to give it a shake down someday soon. The first time it did it I flexed the front suspension pretty hard. With one wheel up a steep driveway approach and the other in the gutter. I suspect the sway bar bushings

The Burb has been acting up lately while trying to refuel. It would cut the pump off every few seconds no matter how slow you ran the pump.

I ordered a new charcoal canister and vent valve solenoid from Rockauto and had my son install them.

The filter material in the old canister had come apart and was allowing the charcoal pellets to get in and plug up the vent lines on the tank.

We hooked the shop vac up to the lines coming from the tank to the canister and then forced air into the fuel tank from the filler neck. The combination flushed out a ton of charcoal pellets from the lines.

I am happy to report that after doing this I went to the gas station and pumped 13 gallons of gas at full blast before the pump kicked off (Truck still had over half a tank when I started pumping) so problem solved and the wife is happy once again.
