Little of a update for this weekend!

Driving home last night and my CEL came on. Checked in on the scan gauge...p0327.....:(

Hoping I might have gotten lucky that my knock sensors weren’t going out I cleared it and when I drove it today it was cutting out WOT and code keeps coming back.

that’s kind of unfortunate but oh well I guess I have been wanting to clean the intake valley regardless
:flipthebird:

So the sensors and gaskets are on their way. Hopefully be here mid week. Kind of puts my stereo stuff on hold(those parts are coming in the next couple days) but knock sensors are slightly more important haha.

also picked up this today. Absolutely perfect shape. Got a little work ahead to get it to work but I absolutely hate the 99-02 steering wheels so I’ll figure it out View attachment 251631
And here’s a pic I took Saturday night just because she was lookin pretty :DView attachment 251632
I've read the 03-06 airbag won't work in the 01-02. Good luck with it.

I know the dual stage bags won’t work for sure. Supposedly the 3500 or van airbags are single stage like the 99-02 are. I guess I’ll find out. Thinking it won’t be a simple install but We shall see. Gotta go get a 03-06 column now

Battery delete under the hood is done. Used a 1/2” piece of plastic for it. Basically like cutting board material. Simple and easy plus made room for my hid ballasts and demon eye controller.

Finally got a new window wash reservoir but not the most excited on where it’s at. It works for now but I think I might try to hide it more.

Also Went down to the hardware store and picked up some stainless bolts and countersunk washers to replace the fender and hood bolts.

I really thought this was gonna go differently than it did. I mean knock sensors aren’t that much to deal with right?!

Apparently I was wrong hahah. now to explain.....

Everything started out okay at first. no problems disconnecting anything(besides the c clip on the stupid CC connector to the throttle body that disappeared), that is until I got to my fuel lines. the plastic quick release tools i had wouldn't release the lines. Drove to my buddies across town to get a metal set. got those off and boom manifold was off finally. 210k miles without ever being taken off looked like this.

YIKES:grumpycat:

After spending about a solid hour cleaning it i finally got it as good as it was going to get unless I busted out the pressure washer which was something i really didnt care to do lol. Figured while i was there i should replace the factory oil pressure sensor. Well i did not realize how long it was and i did not have a 1 1/16 socket deep enough for it... found out finally that i could loosen the cam position sensor next to it and twist it far enough to get some pliers on it and tighten it down.

(i forgot to take a pic before i swapped the knock sensors and oil pressure sensor in.)IMG_3669.jpg
So now the oil pressure sensor is in, knock sensors w/ new harness, and everything is cleaned on the motor ready for gaskets and intake manifold
I went with the FEL-PRO metal/rubber gasket kit instead of sticking with the flemsy plastic factory style crap.IMG_3670.jpg
finally can get the manifold back on!

Alrighty problems should be solved now, easy sailing.....HAHAHAHAHAHAH

intake went back on okay for the most part, got all the bolts started, then went to grab my in-lbs torque wrench. I completely forgot that the one I have only goes as low as 100 in-lbs. If you have done these proper procedure is 44 in sequence, then 89 in sequence. At this point its 1030 thursday night, I need this thing back together so I did a little research.

According to FEL-PRO that gasket is okay to be over torqued(it was made to not fail like the oem style gaskets). so i went in sequence with a 1/4 ratchet and just snugged them all up. came back with the torque wrench at 100 in-lbs and torqued everything with my fingers crossed.

started hooking everything back up, started plugging in injectors and the first one i do i drop the retainer clip for the injector into a open valley on the manifold....Great. after pulling the coil packs off i was able to get needle nose pliers in there and retrieve it thankfully! in the process of doing that i bumped my heater core hose and guess what also was still factory. yeah that broke on me. now its almost midnight so cant get a new connector. figured id get everything else connected then swap that after work today. last thing i went to do is twist the pcv hose to put it back in the valve cover, aaannnddddd that snapped in half. i was done for the night after that.

but it is all fixed now thankfully, definitely gonna do a oil catch can here soon after seeing the inside of my intake and head. everything went back together smoothly after this and she is running great now. idles smoother, seems to have better throttle response, and all around more smooth!
