Can someone help with trailer braking?

Found 2012 Silverado 2500 with 180k miles for 9k. Looking at pictures, where is the receiver and why is there a bumper hitch instead on such a big truck? Damn, and I thought I found what I was looking for... 2b666c2226e08669ce52d34119c036fa.jpg

Installing a receiver is an easy job. If the rest of the truck checks out it may be worth considering.

What is everyone's take on hitch receiver adapters? Found equalizer anti sway hitch with load balancing local in my area. The shank is 2", which is what my Tahoe has. I'm now shopping for 2500Hd Silverado, which has 2 1/2 receiver. Are 2" to 2 1/2" adapters safe so I can use the equalizer in Silverado and Tahoe if need to?

You should be good with the adapter sleeve.

Likely going to pick up 2018 3500HD today. Some minor damage as it is a work truck. 101k miles, $19,5k, 6L Gas. New bumper included in sale, tailgate will be attempted to be fixed (don't want to spent another 500-80p junk part). Hopefully I am not making a stupid decision and will be able to resell when time comes (may be within a year). Will have the truck inspected. 6e203ff1622617244e218d3bf99e0575.jpgd071016390127da0ddacd5610b838cdd.jpg00cf1fbf43136cebbef01712cb5daacd.jpg2e52291c4d9bdd2f8d240088e6cde22e.jpg04df9ab822344090dc6e7d2dc6884865.jpg

That's one big-ass truck. Take care of it and it's very likely you could sell it for what you paid in a year or two. Those things are tanks.

Well the Silverado was a lemon. 101000miles but 5001 engine hours, underbody work, diff swapped from 2500, and other minor things. It all reminded me how much I always hated dealers–they'll sell you a dream! Next stop 2015 GMC 2500 with 186k miles for 20k, but diesel!
