Hi all!

I'm new here so I'm not sure if this is suppose to go here, but im thinking if its possible, to take a 2020 tahoe interior mirror and put it in a 2004 tahoe...reason being is because on the 2020 model the rear view mirror is actually a camera thay shows whats behind you. Instead of a actual mirror. Im sure its possible with some wiring but I'd like to know yalls input

That technology has been around for 15-20 years now. Any parts store or online auto parts supplier, Amazon, ebay etc will sell a kit with mirror, camera and wiring....
I've seen Camrys mini vans with that backup mirror.

I recommend that you look for an aftermarket camera, with a look and style that you are comfortable with, as I am assuming that the cost of an OEM 2020 mirror will be more than twice the cost of an aftermarket setup. Just my guess.....

The only things I can find on Amazon and ebay are the attachments that go over your mirror. The mirror im thinking about uses a camera to show what's behind you as your going down the road not just when backing up. I'll find the pic/video to show what I'm talking about.

That’s just a power wire and flick of a switch. Any ebay camera and ebay mirror with screen will do that too.
Then again, simply ‘looking’ in that same mirror will show what’s behind you as you are ‘going down the road’

The reason I'm looking into this is because my tahoe has a DVD player right in the middle and anytime my kids are watching it it blocks the view from whats behind meScreenshot_20200706-045722_eBay.jpg

I have family that have it from the factory on a 2020 Acadia denali. It uses a camera mounted at the top of the rear hatch part of the around view monitor system. I don't know maybe you could get some of those parts and make it work. The mirror can switch between a mirror and the camera view. The rear view camera in my Yukon would be positioned to low for me to use that camera for a mirror. The mirror part number is 13532977 i believe.
