Hi I'm new here! I need some helpful advice!! I have a 2000 Tahoe LS 5.3 Vortec. Just put in a new battery and changed oil w/synthetic blend at Goodyear . I just made a 1,300 mile trip to help a military friend relocate from Ft. Sill to Ft. Bragg. On the way, at the gas station my truck wouldn't start again, after banging the starter with a hammer it started again. 200 miles later, my radiator suddenly sprung 6 small leaks and I immediately got it towed to a garage. Living on disability-meaning I'm poor-I had dude solder the holes (jb weld) which is holding, after I added Leak stop. Got to our destination and then my truck just stopped working all together. No lights, zippo! Don't know what's wrong
I need to get it home (OK) ASAP!! Would a uhaul flat trailer work? And what can I tow it with? Thanks!!

BCM ECM? sorry, where are they? and ALT not charging? could you be more specific? I'm not real familiar with this stuff. I can change the tires, spark plugs, routine maintenance, but being a single woman these 'computer' vehicles confuse me. lol

For it to be dead suddenly, meaning no slow cranking etc it’s most likely electrical. I have the next model but the fuses you’re looking for are likely under the hood on the driver side and will be labeled BCM or ECM “ALT” is alternator. It charges your battery. Do a google search with your model looking for fuse locations. But as stated check battery cables at both ends first.

I'm replacing the alternator, and fully charged the new battery. Hopefully this will resolve the problem..
