I'm not sure how it works in your state, but in NJ, everything would register under the new to you vin. As long as you got a clean title for the new chassis you'd be good to go. Doesn't matter that you'd be transferring all your old parts over. Def check out your local laws tho, you don't want to get jammed up with some DMV bs.
Thank I'll look into it. If its a go I'll start looking.

IMO you can bend that back as best as you can or cut it out and replace it. Bagged vehicles like my 08 Silverado have that portion of the firewall cut out and tubbed with no issues with integrity. It doesn’t even have to be pretty on yours if you don’t mind. Nice looking truck.

I don't have any real great ones, but here's from when I replaced the front fenders. The fenders have 3/4 of the tubs attached to them but the firewall is cut and the other 1/4 of the tub is welded into the void. On the inside it does have a hump but I don't really notice it. Just be glad it didn't happen on the other side where the heater core is. Mine has been moved and modified to make room for the tub.IMG_8768.JPG IMG_8805.JPG IMG_8830.JPG IMG_8831.JPG
