Changed out the LCA bumpers today. Definitely an improvement, they were the originals with 192k miles on them. Also pulled the driver's door latch and cleaned the switch contacts. The interior lights didn't always come on when the door was open. It's good now!

Since I bought my rig I never liked the braking power it had, it always felt like I was stopping a tank. I was planning on doing a big brake kit and figured I would try the NNBS brake upgrade first. This week I found the NNBS rotors, calipers and brake pads on OfferUp for $150, I jumped on the deal. Got them installed this afternoon and my goodness what a fking difference did it make, it stops on a dime. I'm not sure if the brake upgrade made that much difference or the oem brakes it had were shot.

Did you do SS lines too, they make a big difference too. The rubber ones expand as you step on the brakes.

I wondered if anyone would comment on that. I had seen people complain about the color, and also that they would buy two and the colors would be different. I didn't care for the natural rubber color either and mine didn't match, just like others had said. So, even though my Tahoe isn't lifted and they don't really show, I was thinking about what I could do about the color. I first thought about spray paint, but was worried the solvents would damage the rubber, then I thought about dye. I had some black Rit on my bench so I wiped them with two or three coats of that and let them sit a couple of days before installing them. They actually look black in person, but the camera shot makes them look dark red.

Several months ago I did the SS brake lines, ceramic brake pads and installed a new oem hydro booster hoping to get better stopping power and it did not make much of a difference. At least not any where closed to the NNBS brake upgrade. It's like 100x better now, I don't think I'll be doing the big brake kit at all now. The only SS line I did not do was the one above the differential, I might do that one in the future.
