Where is the best place to get a new or re-manufactured Motor for my 2009 Denali. It has 213,000 miles ad is i perfect cosmetic shape. And it may have many miles left in my original motor. But at My age, I am not going to make payments on a new Denali . My Denali has a great macanical history. Also Iguess I better ask about the tranny also if I need one. I hope someone ca give an idea of the best bang for my buck !

MIchigan motor exchage, Jasper, anyother big place has reman motors with warranty. My suggestion is keep driving the one you have and change oil every 5000 miles or so. It may last 10 more years.

If a GM dealership puts in a new motor and or transmission, they come with a 100K mile warranty. Anything wrong with your engine now?

You can get another 100k on that motor unless its smoking due to piston ring wear. Just replace all the oil seals and keep driving it.

Seals to be replaced
Oil pan gasket
Valve cover gaskets
Valley cover gasket
Rear main seal
Timing chain cover seal

My father use to say if it is not broken don't fix it and save for when it does break. Start putting some money away in a savings account and keep driving with your current engine, I am going tell You when I was looking for a yukon and tahoe to buy in the last few month (I just brought one with 201k ) I kept coming across a lot of Yukon, Yukon XL , Tahoe and Suburbans with the 5.3 and 6.0 engines, I noticed many esp in the 2000-06 years were ranging in miles from 200k to 400 miles. Unless you suspect your engine is bad , then just keep driving on it. My Guess from all I seen of these for sale is you got another good 100 to 200k out of your engine if you have been taking good care of it. I got lucky with my yukon, the guy who sold it to me, had over haul the transmission and transfer case at 193k miles 2 years ago and only put 8k.. I am going think the transmissions with ones that did a lot of hauling go way before the engines though.

sorry I edit this, I got confused about the miles, he did the transmission at 193k and replace the ac system at 177

btw to still give you a idea of how much one would cost, here is a ebay seller that sells gm engines with a 3 year unlimited mile warranty and his feedback is 100% positive

https://www.ebay.com/str/promarprecisionengines

Not sure what engine you have but if you have the 6.0 engine, a rebuilt one from this ebay seller is 2,949 dollars but you would still need to find a shop to install it, so I would guess add in 500 to 1500 more. so maybe your looking at 3500 to 4500 plus taxes

here is a listing for a 2009 6.0 GM V8

His would be an 6.2 liter L9H.

My Dad got one from powertrain products. You’d also want to consider who’s installing it but I’m with everyone else. If your maintenance is sound keep rolling.

Get a GM engine because it will come with a three year warranty that’s good at any dealership in the country. Jasper sucks these days, I wouldn’t use them for a lawn mower engine.
